Yellow Wheel is very excited to announce its new Artistic Director, Joshua Lowe, and Associate Director, Kyall Shanks!

Yellow Wheel was founded in 2012 by Artistic Director Adam Wheeler. In August this year Adam relocated to Launceston to take up the position of Artistic Director of Tasdance. Throughout 2019 he will be supporting Yellow Wheel as Artistic Executive.

Joshua and Kyall both have a long history with Yellow Wheel. Joshua has been the Company Manager since 2012 and choreographed for I Came Here To Dance Once (2014) and The Golden Age (2015). Kyall began a company member in 2013, then moving into the role of Artistic Associate in 2016. He co-choreographed Quark (2016) alongside Adam, and is choreographing for Company Two this year.

Joshua has also been the Artistic Director of Hobart’s youth dance company DRILL since 2007, and will continue in this role alongside Yellow Wheel. Working at the helm of both companies will allow new opportunities for connection and collaboration between Tasmania and Victoria.

As Melbourne’s pre-professional contemporary dance company, Yellow Wheel will continue to offer exceptional training and performance opportunities for young people and emerging artists. We are very excited to enter a new phase for the company and can’t wait to share news on our 2019 program with you all soon!
