Yellow Wheel's major work for 2016

QUARK saw Yellow Wheel alumni, Kyall Shanks and Artistic Director, Adam Wheeler collaborate for the first time to make a dance work exploring our human need to connect to each other and how social media threatens this construct. The work was inspired by Quarks, the smallest known layer of matter in the Universe.  The more two Quarks are separated, the stronger the force gets to the point where they will snap and create two new Quark pairs. They can never exist in isolation.

Quark was supported by Creative Victoria and Chunky Move

In 2015 Yellow Wheel combined our major season and company choreographic season, SHOWROOM, to present nine new short works.

Caught Yellow Handed gave eight young choreographers a chance to expand their choreographic interests while being mentored through upskill development sessions with Alice Lee Holland, Steph Lake & Israel Aloni. Celebrating everything orange in the performance space at Chunky Move our young makers got to experience what it is like to present major dance works.

Science fiction allows us to examine the human condition from a distance and our reliance on and love for our smartphones is the greatest sci-fi story of them all.
